Major Muso's March (0.5) HM-010
A fun to play march, composed using only the first 4 or 5 'easy' notes on each instrument. Like other Hosenbugler arrangements, the trombones/euphonium/tenor sax do not double the bass line. The band has a fuller and warmer sound when they play parts appropriate to their instruments, and still in easy to play ranges. MMM could be played after only a couple of weeks of students learning their instruments.

Grade 1.5
Advance Australia Fair (1.5) HM-015

Grade 2
Repton (2) HM-020
This lovely setting of the Hymntune by Sir Charles Hubert Hastings
Parry (“Dear Lord and Father of Mankind”) is very accessible to
younger bands with reasonable ranges, yet still provides a musical
challenge in this genre for more experienced bands. Featuring brass
and woodwind choir sections, lush warm harmonies, many dynamic
changes and tempo fluctuations this is a great change of pace for
your next concert.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Nessun Dorma (2) HM-016
From Puccini's opera "Turandot", this is one of the best known tenor arias, made famous by Pavarotti, and rescored for concert band. This arrangement very closely follows the original, but with some re-harmonisations. The time signature is notated in 2/2 and note durations augmented to eliminate dotted quaver-semiquaver rhythms, suiting performances by younger students. A real crowd-pleaser, and a great way to get bands to enjoy playing music in the chorale genre.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Timp-tanic (2) HM-013
A Timpani feature is seldom heard of, but you've got no reason not to show off your star percussionist with Timp-tanic. Using four fixed pitches of F, Bb, C & Eb, your timpanist is highlighted throughout the piece in an A-B-A structure.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Irish Tune (2) - Bb Clarinet (or Soprano Saxophone) Feature HM-004
The tradition Irish tune My Love's An Arbutus is given some special treatment in this arrangement - even though the music is well within range on all instruments, it takes nothing away from the lush sound you will make. Although all parts are very easy to play (with the slightly harder solo part), the parts are very independent (lots of suspensions and moving parts), and musically is a challenging yet rewarding piece to master. A great change of pace for your concert.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Rockin' Rondo (2) HM-012
Does your tuba player complain he/she never gets the tune? Well...that's why this piece was written. Your star tuba player features with a solo melody at the start, middle and end. Don't have a tuba? It's cued in String Bass, Bass Clarinet and Baritone Saxophone as well. This piece is composed in typical ABACA Rondo Form, so your students learn something! Ranges are very considerate, though many syncopated rhythms provide a challenge in the rock style.

* NEW * A Seedy Treat (2.5) HM-022
The 3rd of the 'Cory the Corella' series (big band style charts arranged specially for concert band), "A Seedy Treat" is a light and easy latin style. Ranges are very reasonable, with a some syncopated rhythms.

Price - $90.00 $80.00
Pickin' Locks (2.5) HM-021
In a half-time rock shuffle feel, Pickin’ Locks is an original
composition your band will love to play. The 2nd chart in the 'Cory'
series, this is big-band style music arranged specifically for
concert band. Although the ranges are
very reasonable, there are some challenging rhythms in the
jazz/shuffle style, and appropriate articulations ensure your band
will develop their abilities in this genre. Trombone and Alto Sax
solos are written, but changes are provided and improvised solos are
encouraged. Feel free to have your additional percussion players
improvise. (Big Band version coming soon)
Price - $100.00 $90.00
Cory "C" (2.5) HM-018
This is the first in a series of ‘Big Band style’ charts
written specifically for concert band. Rather than provide extra
‘concert band instrument’ parts for a big band arrangement (which
tends to affect balance when used with a full concert band), these
are intended to be played with a full standard concert band. String
Bass is recommended, but alternative bass reinforcement parts can
cover the bass part if required.
Price - $100.00 $85.00
O Christmas Three (2.5) HM-001
Another medley, this time for your end of year concert, contains Jingle Bells, Away In a Manger, and of course O Christmas Tree. This is in all ways an 'arrangement' - new modern harmonies and progressions, and yes - as the title hints, the entire arrangement is in 3/4 time!
Price - $100.00 $80.00
1812 Overture (2.5) HM-002
This is an adaptation of the classic Overture - the original has been followed as closely as possible, but the ranges reduced and rhythms simplified where necessary, while maintaining all the excitement of what is probably the most popular concert finale.
Price - $80.00 $70.00
Greensleeves (2.5) - Solo Feature HM-005
Original written for a woodwind ensemble (featuring clarinet), then rescored for brass band (featuring trombone), the third version for concert band can feature any instrument you want that suits the range. F Horn is the instrument the concert band version was arranged for, but you get to pick! (Not recommended for flute feature - there is already a flute solo within the piece). Once again, this piece is full of jazz flavour in the harmonies and progressions. There is a considerable amount of doubling between brass and woodwind sections, so you don't need a big band to get a really good sound from this arrangement.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
The Old Hundredth (harder version) (2.5) HM-006
The second version of this hymn, was arranged as the hymn selection for the National Band Championships in 2003. Performed by a primary school band competing in the under 19 section, the band scored higher than some high school bands! A great choice for a hymn, sacred item or slow piece with lots of 'flavour'.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Let Us Rejoice (2.5) HM-008
This arrangement is basically the same as the hard version (Lasst Uns Erfreuen), except the keys of the 3 verses have been altered to make the parts easier to play.
Price - $90.00 $80.00
Four Warm-Ups For Concert Band (2.5) HM-014
These short pieces should really be called Four "Wake-Ups" for Concert Band. Based on a scale study, these warm-ups contain different elements often overlooked in the development of students, and each focuses on these concepts. In addition, each pitched instrument group feature in one of the pieces.
1) Triumphant Trumpets - Concert Ab major, march style, many
varying articulations, dotted quaver-semiquaver rhythms.
2) Favourable Flutes - Concert Bb major, slow chorale style with
independent rhythms.
3) Largely Lower Brass - Concert C minor, slow chorale style but
melody is in bass/tenor instruments so balance is the key element.
4) Ready, Reeds - Concert C major, moderate tempo with varying
articulations, extra accidentals in addition to the tricky key.
Price - $80.00 $70.00

Music from Polovetsian Dances (from Prince Igor) (2.5-3) HM-003
This is an adaptation of the original Polovetsian Dances from Borodin's opera "Prince Igor". This very closely follows the original (you can't make the original any better!), but is much easier to play (and is scored for concert band rather than orchestra). The woodwind parts are quite challenging, the percussion follow the original most of the time, but the brass parts are relatively easy - though still fun to play, so will suit a band with a smaller brass section that wishes to perform a "big" concert piece.

First Suite - Sounds of Jazz (4) - Solo Feature HM-017
Commissioned by Mr Garry Clark and the Hills Music Academy Concert Band, “Sounds of Jazz” was composed in a variety of styles common to big band jazz (Latin, Ballad & Swing) with a trombone feature throughout, including optional improvised solo spaces.
After a triumphant introduction, and a variety of ‘colours’ from the various sections of the band, the trombone kicks off the ‘smooth latin jazz’ movement, later with a ‘stop’ solo (written/improvised). The next movement, featuring some higher range ballad playing from the trombone, contains the typical ‘Hosenbugler’ warm, lush harmonic sound, and also much counterpoint within the various sections. The swing finale starts with trombone, vibes & bass clarinet, features a band ‘a capella’ chorus, trombone optional improvised solo with ‘walking’ bass clarinet, and lots of tight swing playing from the whole band.

‘tight’ playing. Solo space for trumpet (written solo with changes),
and an ‘a Capella’ band section provide lots of variety. “Cory” is a
pet long-billed corella, a species of cockatoo found in south-east
